Garibaldi finds out that Sheridan and Lochley used to be married (G: “How many wives has he GOT?”). I’m glad that Lochley finally decided to tell him (and us) the truth about why Sheridan chose her as a Captain.
Londo doesn’t seem very thrilled about being Emperor, does he? Can’t blame him. He’s certainly changed a lot since the first season, hasn’t he?
Garibaldi: “I can feel it to the core of my being, Mr. Allan. This is where it starts going very badly for all of us.”
Lyta (thanks for the spelling correction, Paul) finds out more about Byron as well as being drawn to him. But uh-oh…Bester’s back!
Understandably, Garibaldi is not a happy camper when he finds out. He’s even unhappier when Lochley punches him out.
Things heat up between Byron and Lyta.
Byron’s hair is WAY too perfect, by the way. Even after he’s been beaten up!
Lochley finds a way to keep the telepaths out of Bester’s hands for 60 days.
I love the idea of G’Kar being Londo’s bodyguard.
Interesting song that the telepaths sing in that candlelit room. Was that song (”And we will all come together in a better place”) written for B5, or did it exist before?
I was happy to see Lyta finally feeling as if she’s found a home with these people. People who ALL seem to have perfect hair, by the way…
Next: Secrets of the Soul
[For those who comment below: As the title of my blog indicates, I'm watching B5 for the very first time so PLEASE refrain from posting plot/character spoilers/hints about upcoming episodes, or including links to pages with spoilers (unless you warn readers that they contain spoilers). If there was ever a poster boy for the old saw, “Be careful what you ask for — you may get it”, Londo is him. Poor guy, he’s achieved all his stated desires (except one, and she was killed). Maybe, Londo, you should have studied human platitudes: “A man’s reach should exceed his grasp, or what’s a heaven for?”
JMS wrote the song, I believe for this episode.
It was at about this time I really *wanted* Lochley to turn out to be a fifth columnist for some sort of Clarkeist-Shadowite revolutionary cabal. Everything she did was justifiable by the book, and it was all wrong…
LOL you’re right about the hair. My first reaction to Byron was, “dude, he has nicer hair than like, anyone I know…”
I was happy to see Lyta in this as well, since she’s been so lost for so long.
And for the record, I love reading your reactions, because I’m new to the fandom as well and just saw the whole series for the first time this summer.
Sorry for the late comment. I’m waaaay behind in watching the episodes!
The long-hair group-hugging love-in hippie telepaths never sat well with me. They are too clean and neat (just like the Mars resistance) and they are too damn self-righteous and smug.
