YIKES!!!!!!! I can’t believe it: Kosh is dead, Franklin has quit, and Londo’s back with Morden. And here I thought that things couldn’t possibly get darker…

Morden’s back! He’s not smiling nearly as much as before, though.

I’m glad that Franklin finally acknowledges that he has a problem; I knew it would catch up with him sooner or later. But I didn’t expect him to RESIGN! What’s going to happen to him now? Are we going to see him again? Who’s going to replace him? That woman doctor?
And whoa, how on earth did he get so BUFF? It’s not like he has time to work out in the gym.
(pause while Debbie examines the still below yet again, purely in scholarly interest, of course…)

Don’t tell me.

Hey, what are those squiggly things inside Kosh’s mask? We haven’t seen them before, have we? Don’t tell me.

I’ve been trying harder to check out Morden’s expression when he’s around those spider things to see if he looks scared or nervous or smug, but he doesn’t seem to show any reaction.
Morden: Anything I can do to help?
Vir: Hmmmm. Short of dying, no, can’t think of a thing.
Vir rocks.

As soon as Londo got Morden mad and ESPECIALLY when he told Morden that he had nothing left to lose, I got a terrible feeling about Idira.
Londo: There is nothing you can do to me, Mr. Morden, that has not already been done.

Sheridan has trouble convincing the other races to join the alliance, so approaches Kosh.

Good for Sheridan, confronting Kosh! Especially since he was asking a lot of questions that I was starting to wonder about. Though yelling “Up yours!” to a Vorlon may not have been the most politically correct. Or even anatomically correct.
Holy cow, and he even got Kosh MAD. Wow…so much for Kosh being the peaceful, benevolent angel figure.

But Sheridan got what he wanted — the Vorlons to finally take action, thus helping to convince the other races to join the alliance.
Kosh agrees to do what Sheridan asks, but warns him that there is a price. Sheridan doesn’t realize that this means that Kosh will die.
I was much more upset by Kosh’s death than I expected to be. Kosh confesses to Sheridan, in the form of his father, that Sheridan was right and that Kosh was wrong. And that it was fear that prompted Kosh to last out at Sheridan.

Meanwhile, Londo is about to have his heart broken…

Londo (while waiting for Adira to arrive): Strange, I can barely catch my breath. I have been waiting for this for so long that…gods, Vir. I feel happy. I’d almost forgotten what it was like.
Not realizing that it was Morden who arranged to have Adira killed, Londo blames Rifa and enlists Morden’s help to get revenge.
Oh, Londo.
This is getting darker and darker. What’s going to happen now? Is Franklin really gone? What’s Londo going to do? What will happen when people realize (in a few week’s time) that Kosh is dead? Will the Vorlons seek revenge? Will they continue to fight the Shadow ships, or was that a one-time deal?
AND WHAT ABOUT KOSH’S PREDICTION THAT SHERIDAN WILL DIE IF HE GOES TO Z’HA’DUM?!?? I can’t help but notice that the last episode in this season is called “Z’ha’dum.” (!!!)
Don’t tell me.
Next episode: War Without End (1).

Oh my God, they killed Kosh! Those bastards!
When is the new alliance going to start to really fight back?
Ding! Ding! Ding!
I noticed that Kosh Passed Through Gethsame. It took him a while to get there, going from reacting with anger and fear to accepting his fate.
This is the episode shown at MarCon, 1996. Patricia Tallman was there and had quite a reaction to seeing Kosh attacked and killed.
I love the fight between Kosh and Sheridan. Kosh smacks him around, lifts him off his feat and almost goes full on Darth Vader on him. Pretty scary to see what Kosh is really capable of. As Sheridan points out, Kosh is a legend too. (Damn now I feel the need to watch that scene. It’s one of my favorites.)
Poor Londo didn’t realize he was just asking for it with that speech to Morden.
BTW the next 2 episodes are two of my all-time favorite.
Not so much spoilers as fair warning, but since you mention Z’Ha’Dum: back when the series was originally airing, there was a guide to preparing for watching Z’Ha’Dum. It involved getting plastic sheeting and covering up your living room furniture so you didn’t make a mess when your brain exploded.
Londo words: There is nothing you can do to me, Mr. Morden, that has not already been done.
You know Londo has not been correct about a good many things…..
Mili,
I think the prepartion you mention belongs to the next two episodes! Even after several viewings my head still aches… The bits & pieces had been so well planted prior to Z’Ha’Dum that I was a little insulated against total shock.
Okay, time for some humor!

Debbie, there aren’t any spoilers in this if you’ve reached this point in the series.
I’ve never watched South Park, but this little piece isn’t bad.

And now for some humor.

Debbie, it contains no spoilers for the rest of the series. But if you’ve seen B5 up to this episode it is funny. I never watched South Park, but this I enjoyed.
