Great to find out more about Kosh…and his ship. Love the atmosphere of the scene where Ivanova and Sheridan are talking about Kosh’s mysterious ship. Hope we eventually get to find out more about the ship, the moving patterns on its ’skin,’ and the mysterious symbols that appear when Kosh is watching. Don’t tell me.

I’ve been dying to know more about Kosh, so I’m glad that Sheridan pursued his own curiosity in this episode.

Kosh’s response to Sheridan’s question about why Kosh was in his dream was interesting. “Has this ever happened before?” asked Sheridan. Kosh’s response: “Once.”
Hm. I’m trying to remember if Sinclair ever had Kosh in his dream, but I can’t remember. Don’t tell me.
Sheridan: What do you want?
Kosh: Never ask that question.
Sheridan: At least I got a response out of you. So, what will it be, Ambassador?
Kosh: I will teach you.
Sheridan: About yourself?
Kosh: About you. Until you are ready.
Sheridan: For what?
Kosh: To fight legends.

We also meet a new character in this episode: the woman sent by the General, part of the rebel forces who know that the President was assassinated.

Have to say that I’m not crazy about this woman’s acting.

Intriguing — Dr. Jacobs said that the ship SANG to him. Very cool. I hope we get to find out more about this sentient ship (and Kosh!) soon.
What does Sheridan need to be ready for? And why is Kosh focusing on Sheridan?
Don’t tell me.

I give no spoilers. This has nothing to do with the show, but with B5 fandom while it was in original showing:
Kosh’s ship was generally referred to as “Spot”, like a dog.
“Did you see the symbols on Spot’s skin while Kosh was watching?” That sort of thing.
Yeah. Alas, B5 didn’t have the greatest budget for a SF show, and so sometimes bit characters got played by actors who … couldn’t act. This was not helped by the fact that JMS’s scripts were often fairly “talky,” full of long speeches with abstract ideas (which are always the hardest to act). I’ve heard him say (don’t remember if it was in DVD commentaries or an interview) that he wishes now he could go back and polish the dialog in some of the episodes.
The conversation you quoted here … is very significant, particularly if you’re trying to figure out Vorlon motivations.
I really like the idea of the living ship ’singing’ to it’s comatose passenger. Could any human have heard it?
Why did the ship have to ‘text’ Kosh when it seems like they have a higher connection?
